Collaborations Among Ecologists and Social Scientists [1]

Principal Investigator(s):

John Parker [2]

I study the sociology of science, which means I examine science as a social institution and as a social practice. Most of my research focuses on social and technical aspects of scientific collaborations, exploring how scientists interact with one another, how this affects the types of knowledge they produce, and the impacts of their work on the broader scientific community. During my time at NCEAS I'll be exploring interdisciplinary collaborations among ecologists and social scientists, attempting to understand what happens when these types of scientists meet and how best to organize this type of interdisciplinary research.
