Abstract
Dr. Patty Debenham is a Center Associate and brings a relationship between NCEAS and SeaWeb. SeaWeb is a marine conservation organization based in Washington, DC that works to increase public awareness about the oceans. In order to inform the public, SeaWeb provides information to individuals working in the media about marine conservation issues and the ocean environment.

Dr. Debenham's primary responsibility is to track the activities of marine scientists in order to channel new research activities into SeaWeb media outlets. The relationship with NCEAS enhances her ability to interact with marine scientists as they come to Santa Barbara to participate in NCEAS activities. Dr. Debenham is also involved with a variety of marine oriented workshops at NCEAS such as "Developing the Theory of Marine Reserves" by Lubchenco et. al. As the group finalizes the results of this workshop, SeaWeb and Dr. Debenham will be coordinating many aspects of the publicity and outreach of the group.
