Abstract
From August 2001 to July 2002, I will be on sabbatical from position as Associate Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During my sabbatical period, I plan to develop new approaches to managing and analyzing large data sets generated from molecular (DNA) analysis of natural populations. Specifically, methods for finding family groups (parents, offspring, siblings) will be beneficial for several types of ecological investigations, including studies of mating systems, fitness and reproduction, and dispersal patterns. The scientific support and computing facilities at NCEAS will provide essential resources for this work.
