Roy Chapman Andrews

Instigator and leader of the American Museum expeditions to Central Asia in the 1920's. Andrews succeeded in convincing Osborn that the latter's Asian theory of human origins only could be confirmed with a major paleontological expedition to Mongolia. Not a scientist but a popular writer and master of public relations, Andrews created a dashing, heroic popular self-image.
