William Brewster

Independently wealthy American ornithologist. He became volunteer curator of birds at the MCZ after Allen left for the AMHH, and continued in this capacity until Outram Bangs became full-time curator. Along with Allen and Coues, he led the Nuttall Ornithological Club in Cambridge and in 1883 co-organized the American Ornithologists' Union.
