Thomas Chrowder Chamberlin (1843-1928)

Legendary turn-of-the-century American geologist. Chamberlin's founding of the Chicago geology program and theoretical work in earth history were highly influential in paleontology, although he was not a paleontologist himself. Founder and first editor of the Journal of Geology.
