Welcome to the Carlos J. Melián Web Page!
My scientific dream is the understanding of the origin, evolution and coexistence of diversity in biological networks. Every day I try to get closer to that dream by learning from great people around the world. My current research at
NCEAS
is focusing in the integration of highly heterogeneous data at different biological levels and spatial scales using mainly stochastic models. The main goal is the link between molecular and ecological levels by using fossil, historical and contemporary data to detect the invariant properties and the extreme variability and complexity of such data. My final attempt is to unify the fascinating details of biological systems in a general framework.
