and consequences of geographic variation in species diversity, composition
and trophic
structure in freshwater ecosystems. I am particularly interested in comparing the roles of local processes, such as physical factors and species interactions, vs. regional processes like dispersal. |

I did my Ph.D. in
Ecology
and Evolution at the University
of Chicago with
Mathew
Leibold.
Most of my field work
was done in Michigan at W.K. Kellogg
Biological Station's Pond
Lab site.
Starting in summer
2003, I will be faculty in the Zoology
Department at
the University
of British Columbia.
