Rick brings to NCEAS a background in spatial data analysis, software development, and technical training developed during 20 years working in the software and engineering consulting industries. He is fluent in several high-level programming languages (such as C++) as well as 4GL scripting languages within modern statistical and analytical software packages (including SAS, R, and ArcMap GIS) and web development tools. His geospatial analysis skills include satellite image analysis, spatial statistics, as well as spatial simulation and optimization models.
Rick can assist NCEAS associates who wish to select, understand, and use software tools as well as to identify and acquire digital geographic data sets such as climate, remote sensing, and terrain, for many spatially- oriented scientific computing tasks.
