    Darian Gill

    Darian builds software to help researchers access, manage, and analyze ecological and environmental data. His primary project at NCEAS is VegBank. While his time is often spent in the particulars of programming, Darian’s heart lies in the interdisciplinary work that makes climate action clear and realizable. Before coming to NCEAS, he spent 3 years at Mast, coding tools to revolutionize reforestation and counter the catastrophic effects of wildfires.

    Mike Sweeney

    Mike Sweeney is a conservationist who has worked in business, government, and nonprofits and has over 30 years of experience solving major environmental challenges in the U.S. and around the world. Currently a senior fellow at Conservation International, he was previously for 17 years the Executive Director of The Nature Conservancy in California, the organization’s largest chapter. In addition to his role in California, he oversaw TNC’s chapters in Hawai’i and the Pacific Islands and led the organization’s fisheries reform efforts globally.
