    Maddie Liera

    Maddie is the Personnel Analyst at NCEAS. She works on hires, merits, promotions, payroll, and procurement . She brings 6 years of administrative experience to her role. Maddie started at UCSB in 2024 and enjoys continually learning about the UC operations and systems. Maddie graduated from Westmont College in 2015, with a BA in Spanish Language and Literature, and a minor in Psychology. Outside of work, she enjoys family time, good coffee, thrifting and loves to travel whenever possible.

    Sara Moenssens

    Sara supports NCEAS’ working group financials through stipends and reimbursement, and helps with daily office operations through maintaining shared spaces and assisting with administrative tasks at NCEAS. She is currently pursuing a BA in Environmental Studies and Communications at UCSB, and appreciates being part of a center that turns environmental research into real-world impacts. She hopes to build a career in sustainable fashion, through either the ethical material sourcing or marketing side, driven by a desire to help reduce textile waste produced by the industry.
